জনাব নূরজাহান বেগম ২০২৪ সালের ছাত্র-জনতার ঐতিহাসিক বিপ্লব পরবর্তী অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন সরকারের স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার কল্যাণ মন্ত্রণালয়ের উপদেষ্টা হিসেবে দায়িত্বভার গ্রহণ করেন।
তিনি নোবেল বিজয়ী ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস-এর গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক প্রতিষ্ঠাকালীন সময়ে প্রথম সারির সহযোগীদের একজন ছিলেন। জনাব নূরজাহান বেগম গ্রামীণ ব্যাংকের ভারপ্রাপ্ত ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালকের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।গ্রামীণ শক্তি এবং গ্রামীণ শিক্ষার ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক ছিলেন। গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক কেন্দ্রীয় প্রশিক্ষণ ইনস্টিটিউটের অধ্যক্ষ হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।তিনিগ্রামীণের বেশ কয়েকটি সংস্থার প্রধান, পরিচালক ও ট্রাস্টির দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। তিনি যুক্তরাষ্টের গ্রামীণ ফাউন্ডেশন, গ্রামীণফোন লিমিটেড বাংলাদেশ, গ্রামীণ ইতালিয়া ফাউন্ডেশন এবং সেন্টার ফর মাস এডুকেশন ইন সায়েন্স, বাংলাদেশ এর পরিচালক হিসেবেও দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।
জনাব নূরজাহান বেগম ‘সুসান এম ডেভিস লাইফটাইম অ্যাচিভমেন্ট অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০০৮’‘ওয়ার্ল্ড সামিট মিলেনিয়াম ডেভেলপমেন্ট গোলস অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০০৯’,‘দ্যা ভিশন অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০০৯’,‘আউটস্ট্যান্ডিং কন্ট্রিবিউশন টুএডুকেশন অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০১৪’,‘ইউনূস স্যোসাল বিজনেস সামিট অ্যাওয়ার্ড-২০১৭’ লাভ করেন। এছাড়া তিনি ২০০৭ সালে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের লস অ্যাঞ্জেলস-এ অনুষ্ঠিত ‘ফরচুন মোস্ট পাওয়ারফুল উইমেন সামিট’-এ অংশগ্রহণ করেন এবং স্পেনের ভ্যালেন্সিয়ায় অনুষ্ঠিত ‘ফাউন্ডেশন ফর জাস্টিস’-এর পদক বিতরণ অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতির দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।
তিনি চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন।

After the historical revolution of student-people 2024, Ms. Nurjahan Begum has taken the charge of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as adviser of the interim government.
Ms. Nurjahan Begum, one of the earliest associates of Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus during the establishment of Grameen Bank. She was theacting Managing Director of the Grameenbank andserved as Managing Director of Grameen Shakti and GrameenShikkha.
She served as the principal of GrameenBank Central Training Institute.In the capacity of chairperson, director or trusteeshe served several Grameen organizations. Ms. Nurjahan Begum contributed as a director ofGrameenFoundation,USA;Grameenphone Ltd. Bangladesh; Grameen Italia Foundation, Italy and Center for Mass Education in Science (CMES), Bangladesh.
Ms. Nurjahan Begum was awarded the Susan M. Davis Lifetime Achievement Award 2008 by Grameen Foundation, the World Summit Millennium Development Goals Award 2009, the Vision Award 2009, the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award at Ed Leadership 7th International Roundtable 2014, and the Yunus Social Business Summit Award in 2017. She participated in the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit held in Los Angeles in 2007 and was appointed President to the Foundation for Justice Prize giving ceremony held in Valencia, Spain in 2007.
She obtained Master’s degree from Chittagong University.
